أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ «مَا حَدَّثْتَنِي فَلَا

تُحَدِّثْنِي عَنْ رَجُلَيْنِ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَا يُبَالِيَانِ عَمَّنْ أَخَذَا حَدِيثَهُمَا» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ «لَا أَظُنُّهُ سَمِعَهُ»

Translation

  5. a manayn Faʾinnahumā Lā Yubālīān ʿAmman Akhadhā Ḥadīthahumā

✧ “You relate to me from two men, but they do not care from whom they took their hadith.” Abu Muhammad ‘Abdullah said, “I do not think he heard it.”
