✧ If he made a bequest for manumission during his illness then he recovered

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ فِي مَرَضِهِ لِفُلَانٍ كَذَا وَلِفُلَانٍ كَذَا وَعَبْدِي فُلَانٌ حُرٌّ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ إِنْ حَدَثَ بِي حَدَثٌ فَبَرَأَ قَالَ «هُوَ مَمْلُوكٌ»

✧ That a man said during his illness: 'For so-and-so such-and-such, and for so-and-so such-and-such, and my slave so-and-so is free,' and he did not say: 'If something happens to me,' then he recovered. He said: 'He remains a slave.'
