أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ

رَأَى مُجَاهِدٌ طاوُوسًا فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّهُ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ يُصَلِّي مُتَقَنِّعًا وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى بَابِ الْكَعْبَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ «يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ اكْشِفْ قِنَاعَكَ وَأَظْهِرْ قِرَاءَتَكَ» قَالَ «فَكَأَنَّهُ عَبَّرَهُ عَلَى الْعِلْمِ فَانْبَسَطَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ»

Translation

✧ Mujahid saw Tawus in a dream as if he was in the Ka'bah praying with his face covered, and the Prophet ﷺ was at the door of the Ka'bah. He said to him: "O servant of Allah, uncover your face and make your recitation audible." He said: "It was as if he interpreted it as knowledge, and after that he became expansive in hadith."
