حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ

مَاتَ مَوْلًى لِعُمَرَ فَسَأَلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَقَالَ هَلْ لِبَنَاتِ عُمَرَ مِنْ مِيرَاثِهِ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «مَا أَرَى لَهُنَّ شَيْئًا وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تُعْطِيَهُنَّ أَعْطَيْتَهُنَّ»

Translation

✧ A client of 'Umar died, and Ibn 'Umar asked Zayd b. Thabit, "Do 'Umar's daughters have any share of his inheritance?" He said, "I do not think they have anything. If you wish to give them something, you may give it to them."
