حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَنبَأَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ لَا تَفُوتُنِي عَشِيَّةُ خَمِيسٍ إِلَّا وَآتِي فِيهَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لِشَيْءٍ قَطُّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حَتَّى كَانَتْ ذَاتَ عَشِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ «قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ» قَالَ فَاغْرَوْرَقَتْ عَيْنَاهُ وَانْتَفَخَتْ أَوْدَاجُهُ فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُهُ مَحْلُولَةً أَزْرَارُهُ وَقَالَ «أَوْ مِثْلُهُ أَوْ نَحْوُهُ أَوْ شَبِيهٌ بِهِ»

✧ I never missed a Thursday evening except that I would come to 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud in it. I never heard him say for anything at all, 'The Messenger of Allah said' until one evening, when he said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said.' He said: His eyes filled with tears and his jugular veins swelled. I saw him with his buttons undone, and he said: 'Or its like, or its similar, or resembling it.'

    يرويه مسلم البطين وهو مسلم بن أبي عمران واختلف عنه فرواه سنة بن مسلم البطين وعبدة بن أبي لبابة وعبد الرحمن المسعودي وأخوه أبو عميس عن مسلم البطين عن عمرو بن ميمون عن عبد الله وتابعهم عمار الدهني أيضا فرواه عن مسلم البطين كذلك وخالفهم عبد الله بن عون فرواه عن مسلم البطين عن إبراهيم التيمي عن أبيه عن عمرو بن ميمون كذلك قال جماعة أصحاب ابن عون إلا بشر بن المفضل فإنه لم يقل عن أبيه ورواه إبراهيم بن مهاجر وإبراهيم بن أبي حفصة عن مسلم البطين عن أبي عبد الرحمن السلمي عن عبد الله ورواه شريك عن أبي عميس عن مسلم البطين عن أبي عمرو الشيباني عن عبد الله ويشبه أن يكون القول فيه قول ابن عون لأنه زاد في الإسناد رجلين وهو ثقة وزيادته مقبولة
