أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَرَجُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمِّي ثَابِتُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ حِمَى الْأَرَاكِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا حِمَى فِي الْأَرَاكِ» فَقَالَ أَرَاكَةٌ فِي حِظَارِي؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا حِمَى فِي الْأَرَاكِ» قَالَ فَرَجٌ يَعْنِي أَبْيَضُ بِحِظَارِي الْأَرْضَ الَّتِي فِيهَا الزَّرْعُ الْمُحَاطُ عَلَيْهَا

Translation

✧ He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the protected area of arak trees. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no protected area for arak trees." He said, "An arak tree within my enclosure?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no protected area for arak trees." Faraj said, meaning al-Abyad, "Within my enclosure" refers to the land in which crops are grown and which is surrounded.
