machine translationNāfiʿ narrated it from Ibn ʿUmar, and Sālim and Nāfiʿ differed concerning Ibn ʿUmar. Sālim said: from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ. Nāfiʿ said: from Ibn ʿUmar, from ʿUmar, as his own statement. And the narration of Nāfiʿ is more likely to be correct.

machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrated it from Sālim, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn ʿUyaynah, Yūnus, al-Layth b. Saʿd, Ibn Jurayj, Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĪsā and Maʿmar narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Sālim, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, with both stories together. ʿAmmār b. Abī Farwah likewise narrated it from Sālim, from his father. ʿIkrimah b. Khālid al-Makhzūmī narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: Maṭar al-Warrāq and Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated it from ʿIkrimah b. Khālid, from Ibn ʿUmar. Hudbah b. Khālid said likewise, from Hammām, from Qatādah. Muḥammad b. Kathīr differed from them and narrated it from Hammām, from Qatādah, from ʿIkrimah b. Khālid, from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn ʿUmar. Abān b. Yazīd al-ʿAṭṭār and Hishām al-Dastuwāʾī said likewise, from Qatādah, from ʿIkrimah b. Khālid, from al-Zuhrī, from Ibn ʿUmar. So the hadith of ʿIkrimah b. Khālid goes back to the hadith of al-Zuhrī, even though he transmitted it as a mursal report and did not mention Sālim. Saʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah said, and it is also said from Shuʿbah, from Qatādah, from ʿIkrimah b. Khālid, from Ibn ʿUmar. This hadith was also narrated from Nāfiʿ, and there is disagreement about him. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq, Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā, Ashʿath b. Sawwār, Muḥammad b. ʿUbaydillāh al-ʿArzamī, Sulaymān b. Mūsā, Ḥumayd al-Aʿraj, Yazīd b. Sinān and ʿAbd Rabbih b. Saʿīd narrated it from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, from the Prophet ﷺ, with both stories together, and they erred in it regarding Nāfiʿ.
