  • Ishbīlī

machine translationAl-Nasāʾī narrated this hadith from Sufyān, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, from Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥabbān, from his paternal uncle Wāsiʿ, from Rāfiʿ, meaning that he connected it (waṣalahu) by adding Wāsiʿ. It is likewise in the Ṣaḥīḥ of Abū Ḥātim b. Ḥibbān. He said: Others narrated it without mentioning Wāsiʿ. Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah was not followed in this narration except by Ḥammād b. Dalīl, who narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, like the narration of Sufyān. As for others besides Ḥammād, they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Yaḥyā, without mentioning Wāsiʿ. And Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥabbān did not hear from Rāfiʿ.
