✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered ihram for both together. I met Ibn Umar and informed him of Anas's statement, and he said, 'He only entered ihram for Hajj.' I returned to Anas and informed him of Ibn Umar's statement, and he said, 'Do they consider us but children?'

machine translationSulaymān b. Ḥarb objected that Qatādah and other memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Anas in the same way, so the disagreement concerns Anas himself. He said: Perhaps he heard the Prophet ﷺ teaching someone else how to declare the intention for Qirān (combining ḥajj and ʿumrah), and so he thought that he was declaring it for himself.
