أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ قَالَ قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَسْأَلُونَا عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ مَا كُنَّا نَسْأَلُ عَنْهَا وَتُنَقِّرُونَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ مَا كُنَّا نُنَقِّرُ عَنْهَا وَتَسْأَلُونَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ مَا أَدْرِي مَا هِيَ وَلَوْ عَلِمْنَاهَا مَا حَلَّ لَنَا أَنْ نَكْتُمَكُمُوهَا

Translation

✧ You ask us about things we never used to ask about, and you pry into things we never used to pry into. You ask about things I do not know what they are. If we knew them, it would not be lawful for us to conceal them from you.
