✧ Regarding Sea Water

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ نا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ سَائِلَةٌ لَا يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهَا وَلَكِنْ رُخِّصَ فِي الْخُنْفِسَاءِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ وَالْجَرَادِ وَالْجُدْجُدِ إِذَا وَقَعْنَ فِي الرِّكَاءِ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَظُنُّهُ قَدْ ذَكَرَ الْوَزَغَةَ

✧ He used to say: Every living creature has flowing blood, so one does not perform ablution because of it. But concession was granted regarding the beetle, scorpion, locust, and cricket when they fall into a well, there is no harm in it. Shu'bah said: I think he also mentioned the gecko.
