A man came to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "I have been commanded to observe the Day of Sacrifice (al-Aḍḥā) as an festival, which Allah has made for this Ummah." The man said: "What if I find nothing except the loaned milch animal (manīḥah) of my father, or the sheep of my father and my family and their loaned animal; shall I slaughter it?" He said: "No. But trim your nails, clip your moustache, and shave your pubic hair; that is the completion of your sacrifice with Allah."
