حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ نا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ
أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَوَجَدُوا سَمَكَةً طَافِيَةً عَلَى الْمَاءِ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ أَطَيِّبَةٌ هِيَ لَمْ تُغَيَّرْ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَكُلُوهَا وَارْفَعُوا نَصِيبِي مِنْهَا وَكَانَ صَائِمًا

✧ That he rode in the sea with a group of his companions, and they found a fish floating on the water. They asked him about it, and he said: 'Is it good, has it not changed?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then eat it, and set aside my share of it.' And he was fasting.
