✧ A slave of Ibn Umar ran away and passed by the slaves of A'ishah. He stole from them a sack containing dates and rode a donkey belonging to them. He was brought to Ibn Umar, who sent him to Sa'id b. al-As, who was governor of Madinah. Sa'id said: 'We do not cut off the hand of a runaway slave.' A'ishah sent to him: 'My slaves are your slaves, and he was only hungry and rode the donkey to convey himself on it, so do not cut him.' But Ibn Umar cut off his hand.
