machine translationHe found it defective because of inconsistency (iḍṭirāb), and said that it is an error, and that the correct report is the narration of Ibn Jurayj from Sulaymān b. Mūsā as a mursal report (mursal).
machine translationThe Shaykh said: This is from Ibn Jurayj; no one narrates it other than al-Rabīʿ b. Badr and Ghundar, the companion of Shuʿbah, and it is not preserved (ghayr maḥfūẓ) from the hadith of Ghundar. Muḥammad b. Muḥammad al-Bāghandī narrated to us: Abū Kāmil narrated to us: Ghundar narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ibn ʿAbbās, from the Prophet ﷺ, similarly. Ibn ʿAdī said: Abū Kāmil said: I did not write down anything from Ghundar other than this hadith; ʿAbdullāh b. Salm passed it on to me from him. This hadith was also narrated from Abū Kāmil by al-Maʿmarī.
in سنن الدارقطني, p. 336 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationThe mursal version (the report narrated without the Companion in the chain) is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).
