نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بُدَيْلٍ نا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ نا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ
شَهِدْتُ عَلِيًّا ؓ وَأَتَى بِأَخِي بَنِي عِجْلٍ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ قَبِيصَةَ تَنَصَّرَ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ مَا حُدِّثْتُ عَنْكَ قَالَ مَا حُدِّثْتَ عَنِّي قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْكَ أَنَّكَ تَنَصَّرْتَ فَقَالَ أَنَا عَلَى دِينِ الْمَسِيحِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ وَأَنَا عَلَى دِينِ الْمَسِيحِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ مَا تَقُولُ فِيهِ فَتَكَلَّمَ بِكَلَامٍ خَفِيَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ طَؤُوهُ فَوُطِئَ حَتَّى مَاتَ فَقُلْتُ لِلَّذِي يَلِينِي مَا قَالَ قَالَ الْمَسِيحُ رَبُّهُ

He said: "It has been reported to me about you that you became a Christian." He said: "I am upon the religion of the Messiah." ʿAlī said to him: "And I am upon the religion of the Messiah." Then ʿAlī said to him: "What do you say about him?" So he spoke words that were unclear to me. ʿAlī said: "Trample him." So he was trampled until he died. I said to the one next to me: "What did he say?" He said: "The Messiah is his Lord."
