  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationThis ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar is weak (ḍaʿīf), but the author of al-Tanqīḥ held that this was a mistake and said: Rather, he is trustworthy (thiqah), one of the men of the two Ṣaḥīḥs. The weak one is the father of ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī, who is earlier than this one, and he is al-Raqqī, trustworthy (thiqah). All the narrators of this hadith are trustworthy (thiqāt), but it is a rejected hadith (munkar), and it is among the most rejected of what is narrated from al-Ḥasan from Samurah.

    in سنن الدارقطني, p. 2981
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī said: ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar was alone in narrating it.

  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationAll of them are weak (ḍiʿāf); none of them is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).
