حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْبَاقِي بْنُ قَانِعٍ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ الْعَيْشِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ لَيْلَةَ هِلَالِ رَمَضَانَ

فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْهِلَالَ فَقَالَ تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَنَادَى فِي النَّاسِ أَنْ صُومُوا وَرَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ مُرْسَلًا

✧ He said: O Messenger of Allah, I have seen the crescent. He said: Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah? He said: Yes. So he announced to the people that they should fast. Shu'bah also narrated it from al-Thawri as mursal.
