✧ Charity is Not Permissible for the Rich Nor for the Strong Able-Bodied

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا مُسْلِمٌ ثنا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُزَكِّي مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ وَيَسْتَقْرِضُ مِنْهُ وَيَدْفَعُهُ مُضَارَبَةً

Translation

✧ Ibn Umar would pay zakah on the orphan's wealth, borrow from it, and give it out as a speculative partnership (mudarabah).
