حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَكِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ أَمْسَكَ عَنِ الْخُطْبَةِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيْهِ ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَى خُطْبَتِهِ هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ لَا تَقُومُ بِهِ حُجَّةٌ وَأَبُو مَعْشَرٍ اسْمُهُ نَجِيحٌ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ

✧ ﷺ, when he ordered him to pray two rak'ahs, he paused the khutbah until he finished his two rak'ahs, then he returned to his khutbah. This is mursal; it cannot be used as proof. Abu Ma'shar's name is Najih, and he is weak.
