Sulayk al-Ghaṭafānī came while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon on the day of Jumuʿah, and he sat down before praying. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded him to pray two rakʿahs. Then he turned his face to the people and said: "When one of you comes to the Jumuʿah prayer while the imam is delivering the sermon, let him pray two rakʿahs and make them brief."
