وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَرَأَ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَنَهَاهُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ أَتَنْهَانِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَتَذَاكَرَا ذَلِكَ حَتَّى سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنَّ قِرَاءَتَهُ لَهُ قِرَاءَةٌ

لم يسنده غير أبي حنيفة وهو سيئ الحفظ عند أهل الحديث وقد خالفه الحفاظ فيه سفيان الثوري وشعبة وابن عيينة وجرير فرووه عن موسى بن أبي عائشة عن عبد الله بن شداد مرسلا وهو الصحيح فيه الإرسال وليس مما يحتج به وقد رواه الليث بن سعد عن أبي يوسف عن أبي حنيفة عن موسى بن أبي عائشة عن عبد الله بن شداد عن أبي الوليد عن جابر بن عبد الله فأدخل بين عبد الله بن شداد وبين جابر أبا الوليد هذا وهو مجهول لا يعرف وحديثه هذا لا يصح

The ḥuffāẓ contradicted him in it: Sufyān al-Thawrī, Shuʿbah, Ibn ʿUyaynah and Jarīr narrated it from Mūsā b. Abī ʿĀʾishah, from ʿAbdullāh b. Shaddād as a mursal report, and that is the correct form, namely that it is mursal. It is not among what may be used as evidence. Al-Layth b. Saʿd narrated it from Abū Yūsuf, from Abū Ḥanīfah, from Mūsā b. Abī ʿĀʾishah, from ʿAbdullāh b. Shaddād, from Abū al-Walīd, from Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh, so he inserted this Abū al-Walīd between ʿAbdullāh b. Shaddād and Jābir. He is unknown (majhūl) and not recognized, and this hadith of his is not sound.
