حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ. قَالَ: إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ ; الْقَتْلُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ يَقْتُلُهَا وَلَدُهَا شَهَادَةٌ
Translation

✧ He said: 'What do you consider a martyr among you?' They said: 'Being killed in the path of Allah.' He said: 'Then the martyrs of my nation would be few. Being killed is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, and the woman whose child kills her is martyrdom.'
