حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ، نَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ نَزَلَ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلَسَعَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ فَأَمَرَ الشَّجَرَةَ فَأُحْرِقَتْ - يَعْنِي عَلَى مَا فِيهَا مِنَ النَّمْلِ - فَأَوْحَى اللهُ إِلَيْهِ: أَلَا نَمْلَةً مَكَانَ نَمْلَةٍ

✧ A prophet among the prophets camped under a tree and an ant stung him, so he ordered the tree to be burned – meaning with all the ants on it. Then God revealed to him: 'Why not just one ant in place of one ant?'
