حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ قَالَ: نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: نَا رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا رَحِمَهُ اللهُ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْجَمَلِ لِطَلْحَةَ: أَنْشُدُكَ اللهَ يَا طَلْحَةُ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى، قَالَ: فَذَكَرَهُ وَانْصَرَفَ

✧ I heard 'Ali, may Allah have mercy on him, say on the day of the Camel to Talhah: I adjure you by Allah, O Talhah, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him and be an enemy to whoever is hostile to him? He said: Yes. He said: Then he mentioned it and turned away.
