حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الصَّائِغُ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، نَا الْحَجَّاجُ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَرْطَاةَ - عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ، هَذَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ وَهَذَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ، يَلْثِمُ هَذَا مَرَّةً وَهَذَا مَرَّةً، حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: إِنَّكَ لَتُحِبُّهُمَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: مَنْ أَحَبَّهُمَا فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي، وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمَا فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us with al-Hasan and al-Husayn, one on each shoulder, kissing this one once and that one once, until he reached us. A man said to him: “Do you love them, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Whoever loves them has loved me, and whoever hates them has hated me.”
