حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: - بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الرَّحْمَنِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى، فَإِذَا الْتَفَتْ يَقُولُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: إِلَى مَنْ تَلْتَفِتُ ؟ إِلَى خَيْرٍ مِنِّي ؟ أَقْبِلْ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَيَّ، فَأَنَا خَيْرٌ مِمَّنْ تَلْتَفِتُ إِلَيْهِ
Translation

✧ Indeed when the servant stands for prayer, he is—I think he said—before the Most Merciful, Blessed and Exalted. When he turns away, the Blessed and Exalted says: To whom do you turn? To something better than Me? Come forward, O son of Adam, to Me, for I am better than what you turn to.
