machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿAṭāʾ b. Abī Rabāḥ, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Eat the pre-dawn meal (suḥūr), for in the pre-dawn meal there is blessing." He said: It is narrated by Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylā and Yaʿqūb b. ʿAṭāʾ, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Abū Hurayrah, as a raised report (marfūʿ). There is disagreement concerning ʿAbd al-Malik b. Abī Sulaymān: Manṣūr b. Abī al-Aswad narrated it from ʿAbd al-Malik, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Abū Hurayrah, as a raised report (marfūʿ), while Abū Ḥamzah made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf) from ʿAbd al-Malik, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Abū Hurayrah. The raised version is sound (ṣaḥīḥ).
