✧ What 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj narrated from Abu Hurayrah

وَبِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
وَنَظَرَ إِلَى الشَّمْسِ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا عَلَى أَطْرَافِ سَعَفِ النَّخْلِ - فَقَالَ: مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ يَوْمِكُمْ فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا بَقِيَ ؟ قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا فِيمَا مَضَى إِلَّا مِثْلُ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ يَوْمِكُمْ فِيمَا مَضَى مِنْهُ
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ He looked at the sun at its setting on the edges of palm branches and said: What remains of your day compared to what has passed of it? He said: We said: O Messenger of Allah, what remains? He said: By the One in whose hand is my soul, what remains of this world compared to what has passed is only like what remains of your day compared to what has passed of it.
