✧ What 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj narrated from Abu Hurayrah

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، نَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي عَلَى قَلِيبٍ أَسْقِي، فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَنَزَعَ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ ذَنُوبَيْنِ، وَفِي نَزْعِهِ ضَعْفٌ وَاللهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ فَاسْتَحَالَتْ غَرْبًا، فَلَمْ أَرَ عَبْقَرِيًّا مِنَ النَّاسِ يَفْرِي فَرِيَّهُ

✧ I saw as if I were at a well drawing water. Abu Bakr came and drew a bucket or two, and in his drawing there was weakness—may God forgive him. Then 'Umar came and it turned into a large bucket, and I have never seen a mighty man among the people who could do as he did.

    و قوله ذنوبا أو ذنوبين هو شك من بعض الرواة وقد جاء بغير شك ذنوبين في الرواية الأخرى وهي أحسن
