✧ What 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj narrated from Abu Hurayrah

وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ: نَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقَالُوا: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ؛ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade continuous fasting. They said, 'But you fast continuously.' He said, 'I am not like you; I spend the night with my Lord, and He feeds me and gives me drink.'
