✧ I had a standing with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that no one else had. I used to come to him every pre-dawn, greet him, and leave only when he cleared his throat, then return to my family. One day I came and greeted him, saying, 'Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah.' He said, 'Wait, O Abu al-Hasan, until I come out to you.' When he came out, I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, you did not speak to me before as you spoke to me tonight.' He said, 'I heard a movement in the room and asked, "Who is this?" He said, "I am Jibril." I said, "Enter." He said, "No, come out to me." When I went out to him, he said, "There is something in your house that no angel enters while it is there." I said, "I do not know of it, O Jibril." He said, "Go and look." I opened the door and found nothing but a puppy that al-Hasan was playing with. I said, "I found nothing but a puppy." He said, "None will enter it while one of them is present," meaning one of three: a dog, or a state of major ritual impurity, or an image of a living being.'
