حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ الطَّائِيُّ قَالَ نَصْرٌ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ زَيْدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ: نَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ﷺ لَأَطُوفَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى كَذَا وَكَذَا امْرَأَةٍ - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ مِائَةً - تَلِدُ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَطَافَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَلَمْ تَحْمِلْ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا امْرَأَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ يَقُولُونَ: نِصْفَ إِنْسَانٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَوْ كَانَ اسْتَثْنَى لَحَمَلَتْ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

✧ Sulayman b. Dawud ﷺ said: 'Tonight I shall go around to such-and-such a number of women' — I think he said a hundred — 'each woman among them will give birth to a boy who will fight in the path of Allah.' He went around to them, but none of them conceived except one woman who, they say, gave birth to half a human being. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Had he made an exception, every woman among them would have conceived a boy who would fight in the path of Allah.'
