✧ My ummah was given five things in Ramadan that no ummah before them was given: the breath of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk; the angels seek forgiveness for them until they break their fast; the devils are chained in it so they cannot reach what they would reach in other months; then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: 'My righteous servants are about to cast off their burden and harm'—I think he said—'and it will come to them,' or 'they will come to their reward on the last night.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is it Laylat al-Qadr?' He said: 'No, but the worker is paid his wages when he finishes his work.'

machine translationWe do not know this hadith to be narrated from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ except through this route with this chain. Hishām b. Abī Hishām is a man from the people of Basra, called Hishām b. Ziyād Abū al-Miqdām. A group of the people of knowledge have narrated from him, but he is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī) in hadith.
