نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُوَانٍ قَالَ: نَا بُهْلُولٌ قَالَ: نَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَأْخُذَ - أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: - هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ سَنَنَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَهَا شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كَمَا فَعَلَتْ فَارِسُ وَالرُّومُ

Translation

✧ The Hour will not be established until – I think he said – this nation follows the ways of those before it, span by span and cubit by cubit. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Just as Persia and Byzantium did.'
