✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was sitting with Abu Bakr. A man began insulting Abu Bakr while the Messenger of God smiled. When the man went on at length, Abu Bakr answered back some of what he said. The Messenger of God ﷺ got up angry. Abu Bakr caught up with him and said, “O Messenger of God, he insulted me while you listened. When I answered him, you got up and left me!” He said, “An angel was answering him on your behalf. When you answered him, Satan appeared, and I would not sit with Satan.”
