وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ - فِيمَا أَحْسَبُ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ الصَّلَاةَ مَدًّا، وَكَانَ يَسْكُتُ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ، وَيُكَبِّرُ إِذَا خَفَضَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to raise his hands when he entered the prayer, extending them fully. He would pause before recitation, asking Allah of His bounty. He would say takbir when he went down and when he came up.
