✧ 'Ubayd, the freed slave of Abu Rahm, from Abu Hurayrah

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: نَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي رُهْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ;
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مَرَّتْ بِهِ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهَا رِيحَ عُصَارٍ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: الْمَسْجِدَ تُرِيدِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: وَلَهُ تَطَيَّبْتِ ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ تَطَيَّبَتْ ثُمَّ أَتَتِ الْمَسْجِدَ لَمْ تُقْبَلْ لَهَا صَلَاةٌ حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلَ كَاغْتِسَالِهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ

✧ A woman passed by him and he perceived from her the scent of perfume. Abu Hurayrah said to her, "Do you intend the mosque?" She said, "Yes." He said, "And for it you have perfumed yourself?" She said, "Yes." Then Abu Hurayrah said, "The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Any woman who perfumes herself and then comes to the mosque, her prayer will not be accepted until she performs a ghusl like her ghusl from janabah.'"
