✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الْيَتِيمَةُ تُسْتَأْمَرُ فِي نَفْسِهَا، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُوَ إِذْنُهَا، فَإِنْ أَبَتْ فَلَا جَوَازَ عَلَيْهَا

Translation

✧ The orphan girl is to be consulted about herself; if she remains silent, that is her consent, but if she refuses, there is no compulsion upon her.
