✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى فَقَالَ مُوسَى يَا آدَمُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَدْخَلْتَ ذُرِّيَّتَكَ النَّارَ، فَقَالَ آدَمُ - فِيمَا أَحْسَبُ - فَبِكَمْ تَجِدُ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ ؟ يَعْنِي: مَكْتُوبًا - قَالَ: فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى

Translation

✧ Adam and Moses argued. Moses said, “O Adam, you are the one who caused your descendants to enter the Fire.” Adam said—as I think—“By how much do you find that decreed for me? meaning, written.” He said, “So Adam argued against Moses.”
