✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

يَنْزِلُ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِلَى سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا حِينَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ، فَيَقُولُ: مَنْ يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ ؟ مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ، مَنْ يَسْأَلُ فَأُعْطِيَهُ، أَوْ قَالَ: مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ

Translation

✧ God, Blessed and Exalted, descends to the worldly heaven when the last third of the night remains and says, “Who is calling upon Me that I may answer him? Who is seeking My forgiveness that I may forgive him? Who is asking that I may give him?” Or he said, “Who is asking Me that I may give him?”
