حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ بِشْرٍ، قَالَ: نَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ، قَالَ: نَا عِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

كُنَّا فِي رَكْبٍ مَعَ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ: مَنْ يُحَدِّثُنَا ؟ فَهَاجَتِ الرِّيحُ وَأَنَا فِي آخِرِ الْقَوْمِ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: أَيُّكُمْ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ فِي الرِّيحِ شَيْئًا ؟ فَقُلْتُ: أَنَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: الرِّيحُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَالْعَذَابِ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَسَلُوا اللهَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَلَا تَسُبُّوهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَأْمُورَةٌ

✧ We were in a riding party with 'Umar. He said: 'Who will narrate to us?' Then the wind blew while I was at the rear of the people. 'Umar said: 'Which of you has heard anything from the Messenger of Allah about the wind?' I said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The wind is from the mercy of Allah. It brings mercy and punishment. When you see it, ask Allah for its good and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and do not revile it, for it is commanded."'
