✧ The Basrans from Anas

وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِي عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ;

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حَجَّ عَلَى رَحْلٍ رَثٍّ وَتَحْتَهُ قَطِيفَةٌ، فَقَالَ: حَجَّةٌ لَا رِيَاءَ فِيهَا وَلَا سُمْعَةَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ performed Hajj on a worn-out saddle, and beneath him was a velvet cloth. He said: A Hajj with no ostentation or reputation-seeking in it.
