حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، نَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ;
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ: إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ: لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قَالَ: سَمَّانِي ؟! قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَبَكَى أُبَيٌّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ubayy b. Ka'b: 'Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has commanded me to recite to you: "Lam yakuni alladhina kafaru."' He said: 'Did he name me?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Ubayy wept.'
