✧ An angel is entrusted with the Scale. The son of Adam is brought and made to stand between the two pans of the Scale. If his scale is heavy, an angel calls out in a voice audible to all creatures: So-and-so has attained happiness, after which he will never be wretched. If his scale is light, an angel calls out in a voice audible to all creatures: So-and-so has become wretched, after which he will never be happy.
