حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا رَوْحٌ، نَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ;

✧ Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I will not marry women.' Others said: 'I will not eat meat.' Others said: 'I will not sleep on a bed.' Others said: 'I will fast and not break my fast.' This reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: 'What is the matter with people who say such-and-such? But I pray and sleep, I fast and break my fast, and I marry women. Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me.'
