حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:
لَمَّا وُلِدَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو طَلْحَةَ: اذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِيُحَنِّكَهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ وَهُوَ فِي مِرْبَدٍ يَسِمُ غَنَمًا، فَحَنَّكَهُ بِتَمْرَةٍ فَجَعَلَ الْغُلَامُ يَتَلَمَّظُهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: حِبُّ الْأَنْصَارِ التَّمْرُ

✧ When 'Abdullah b. Abi Talha was born, Abu Talha said to me: "Take him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that he may perform tahnik on him." I brought him to him while he was in a livestock enclosure branding sheep. He performed tahnik on him with a date, and the boy began to chew it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The beloved of the Ansar is dates."
