حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - ؓ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

" مَا هَمَمْتُ بِشَيْءٍ مِمَّا كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَعْمَلُونَ بِهِ غَيْرَ مَرَّتَيْنِ، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَحُولُ اللهُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ مَا هَمَمْتُ بَعْدَهَا بِشَيْءٍ حَتَّى أَكْرَمَنِي اللهُ بِرِسَالَتِهِ

✧ I never intended to do any of the things the people of the Jahiliyyah used to do except on two occasions, and each time Allah came between me and what I wanted to do. Then after that I never intended anything until Allah honored me with His message.
