✧ Maria, the mother of Ibrahim, was suspected because of a Copt, a cousin of hers who used to visit her and come to her frequently. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: Take this sword and go; if you find him with her, kill him. I said: O Messenger of Allah, when you send me on an errand, should I be like a heated iron that nothing turns back until I carry out what you commanded me, or should the witness see what the absent does not see? He said: Rather, the witness sees what the absent does not see. So I went with the sword slung over my shoulder and found him with her. I drew the sword, and when he saw me approaching him, he feared that I intended him. He went to a palm tree and climbed it, then threw himself on his back and spread his legs, and he was a eunuch with no male organ at all. So I sheathed the sword and came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him. He said: "Praise be to Allah who turns away [evil] from us, the people of the household."
