✧ The Basrans from Anas

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُمَيْرٍ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَفْظُ ثَابِتٍ

أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ; فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ يُؤْدَنَ أَوْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ.

✧ He wanted to marry a woman, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Look at her, for it is more likely to create harmony between you two.” Then al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah married her.
